Pull Up a Chair
Welcome to See You Around the Campfire.
If you've ever spent time at camp, you know there's something special about a campfire. It's where stories are told, friendships are strengthened, laughter echoes into the night, and sometimes the most meaningful conversations happen.
Around a campfire, people slow down.
Phones are put away. The schedule pauses. The distractions of everyday life fade into the background. What remains is community, conversation, and often a deeper awareness of God's presence.
As our family prepares to begin this new chapter at Pickett Lake Camp, I wanted to create a space that captures that feeling.
That's where See You Around the Campfire comes in.
This blog will be a place to share stories from camp life, ministry moments, leadership lessons, behind-the-scenes updates, and reminders of God's faithfulness. Some posts will make you smile. Some may challenge you. Others will simply tell the story of what God is doing in and through this ministry.
My prayer is that each time you read one of these posts, it feels less like reading a newsletter and more like sitting around a campfire with friends.
For those who may not know me yet, my name is Travis Johnson. My wife, Trina, and I, along with our children Corben, Cannon, and Courtney, are excited to join the Pickett Lake Camp family this November. We are humbled by the opportunity to serve and grateful for everyone who has welcomed us along the way.
As we begin this journey together, I invite you to pull up a chair.
Follow along as we share stories of faith, fellowship, adventure, and the countless ways God continues to work in the lives of campers, volunteers, churches, and families.
The fire is burning, the chairs are set, and there's always room for one more.
See you around the campfire.
